The third Lalabala Kathmandu International Children’s Theatre Festival, organised by Swastishree Gurukul I World School, concluded on Saturday. The festival, aimed at promoting peace and harmony for children affected by conflict worldwide, was attended by the Minister of Bagmati Province for Tourism, Industry and Cooperative, Pukar Maharjan. The event received appreciation from Mina Maharjan, the director of the school and the president of the theatre festival.

According to Maharjan, the organisers want to showcase theatrical performances from different countries, promote world peace and unity, foster global brotherhood, and contribute to the country’s tourism. The festival began on Wednesday. Countries including India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, France, Slovakia, Poland, Sri Lanka and Thailand participated in it.

The opening on November 8 included a parade and cultural displays. The inauguration had distinguished guests, including former Vice President Harihar Sharma, Dr Savitri Malla and renowned theatre artists Ashesh Mall and Vijay Bisphot.

During their visit, international artists also explored tourist sites such as Swayambhunath, Chandragiri, Vasantapur and Pashupatinath.
