A dystopian mystery
One World Theatre brings Duerali Daandi to the stage from January 13 to 29.Post Report
One World Theatre, an English-based theatre company in Nepal, has teamed up with Actors’ Studio Nepal to bring Deurali Daandi (The Last Chapter of Chatu) to the stages. The is play directed by Rose Schweitz, as the climax to her US Fulbright Grant, and written by Sahalesh.
The play transports viewers to a dystopian future where a mysterious epidemic has taken over a village in Nepal. The epidemic has long wiped out all the men from the town, and as it resurfaces, the women have to do everything in their power to protect the survivors.
The play will be shown at Studio Theater Nepal from January 13 to January 29. (Time schedules mentioned below.) Interested individuals can call in and book their tickets which cost Rs. 500 for regular seating and Rs. 1000 for premium seating.
The play will be entirely in Nepali, and English translations will be projected at every show.
