Police have arrested eight persons on charge of murdering a woman in Devachuli Municipality of East Nawalpur district.

Thirty-three-year-old Tolmaya Bache Magar was physically assaulted by her neighbours on March 22. The following morning, Magar was found hanging at her own residence.

According to the locals, Magar was allegedly found staying with her neighbour Dhan Bahadur Nepali on March 22 by the latter’s wife. Following the discovery, Magar was subjected to assault from a group of people.

An investigation into the matter was launched after the victim’s husband Nar Bahadur Bache Magar registered a police complaint at the district police office, said Sub-Inspector Tika Ram Pokharel.

Magar’s son has accused the locals of his mother’s death.

The police on Monday arrested eight people, including Nepali, in connection to the case.
