At least three people were killed when a dry landslide buried a jeep in Palpa district on Wednesday morning.

According to the police, the jeep was heading towards Butwal from Gulmi via Palpa when the incident occurred at Ribdikot Rural Municipality along the Deurali Jorte-Laghuwa road section.

The incident left eight people were injured, police said.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Thapa of the District Police Office, Palpa informed that one woman and two men died due to the landslide.

Thapa said that the police are yet to identify the deceased.

The injured passengers, who were rescued by locals and police, are undergoing treatment at Tansen Hospital in Palpa.

The Road Division Office, Palpa has been working to upgrade the same road section by halting vehicular movement from 10pm-4am every night.
