Nepal set 116-run target against Malaysia in ACC Women’s Premier Cup semi-finals

Nepal have posted a 116-run target against Malaysia in the semi-finals of the ACC Women’s Premier Cup on Friday.
Elected to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal lost opener Sita Rana Magar for six runs in 3.6 overs at the match played at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur. Her batting partner Kabita Kunwar was run out at 23 runs in 10.1 overs. Rubina Chhetry was third to return to the pavilion at 15.2 over after scoring 20 off 18 balls.
Skipper Indu Barma made 29 runs off 37, smashing two fours before losing her wicket in the last ball of the 17th over.
A quick-fire 25-run knock by Dolly Bhatta took Nepal to 115-6 at the end of the stipulated 20 overs.
Mahirah Izzati Ismail took two wickets for the hosts as Winifred Duraisingam grabbed a wicket.
Nepal progressed into the semi-finals of the tournament as they defeated Kuwait by eight wickets on the D/L method in a rain-affected match at the YSD-UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi, Malaysia on Wednesday. Malaysia defeated Japan by 16 runs at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur to set up the semi-finals clash with Nepal.
The two finalists of the tournament will make it to the T20 Asia Cup set to take place in September this year.
In the other semi-final held today, the United Arab Emirates defeated Thailand by four wickets.
