The Netherlands have set a target of 185 runs for hosts Nepal in the ongoing Twenty20 International Tri-Nation Series at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Wednesday.
Sent to bat first after losing the toss, the visitors amassed a decent total of 184 runs, on the back of a half-century by Michale Levitt, at a loss of four wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Opener Max O’Dowd was dismissed cheaply for a 6-ball 4 while his opening partner Levitt fired five hits to the fences and three maximums, scoring 54 runs in his 36-knock play. He was stumped by Aasif Sheikh in 8.5 overs.
Dutch captain Scott Edwards was next to go, being caught between the wickets by Sheikh in 12.6 overs. Edwards faced 16 deliveries to put up 33 runs, which included five boundaries.
Likewise, Teja Nidamanuru was also run out in the final delivery of the innings. He smashed three boundaries to score 31 runs off 24 deliveries.
Sybrand Engelbrecht muscled four hits to the fences and a six as he contributed an unbeaten 49 runs in facing 38 deliveries.
For Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airee, Karan KC and Kushal Malla pocketed a wicket apiece.
The hosts opened the tri-series with a 20-run loss against Namibia on Tuesday, a third consecutive loss against the Namibians, all played at home.
The Rhinos lost both their one-day international matches of the Nepal Tri-series of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 to Namibia this month.
The final is scheduled for March 5.
All three teams have qualified for the T20 World Cup to be held in June in the West Indies and the United States.
