One person died and two others were injured after they were buried by a landslide in ward 1 of Myagde Rural Municipality on Monday evening.

The deceased is a 33-year-old man from Jhapa, according to Tanahun District Police Office.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Bahadur Khand said three workers were injured after they were hit by the landslide at around 4pm while constructing a retaining wall.

“They were immediately rescued and sent for treatment, but one person succumbed to injuries,” he said.

A 45-year-old man from Jhapa is receiving treatment at Damauli Hospital, while a 40-year-old man from Udayapur has been taken to Pokhara for further treatment.
