Six detainees escape from police custody in Dhanusha

A total of six detainees escaped from a detention room of Mahendranagar Area Police Office of Dhanusha district in the wee hours of Monday morning.
Superintendent of Police Bishwa Raj Khadka of Dhanusha District Police Office said six out of seven detainees in police custody over different cases fled at around 3am after breaking the boundary wall.
Khadka said that a committee will be formed to investigate the incident, adding a special team has been assigned to search for the absconders.
They were remanded to judicial custody by a court on cases including narcotics and public offence, police said.
Police Inspector Bechan Yadav of Mahendranagar Area Police Office has been dragged into the controversy yet again after the incident. Earlier, Yadav had drawn flak for misbehaving with female police personnel.
