Three people died in a road accident at Bhaladami Chowk of Manahari Rural Municipality in Makwanpur district along the East-West Highway on Thursday.

According to the police, the accident, involving a vehicle, yet to be identified, and a scooter, occurred at around 10pm on Thursday night.

District Police Office, Hetauda said that the vehicle involved in the collision is yet to be located.

Deputy Superintendent Tek Bahadur Karki, spokesperson of the District Police Office, informed that 32-year-old Dharmaraj Moktan of Manahari Rural Municipality-8, Milan Moktan and Rupesh Tamang of Raksirang Rural Municipality-3 who were riding the scooter died in the accident.

Karki said that Rupesh and Milan died soon after being taken to the Old Medical Hospital in Bharatpur, while Dharmaraj died during treatment at 3 am on Friday.

Following the accident, the agitated locals obstructed vehicular movement along the highway from 11 pm to 6 am.

The highway obstruction has been cleared following an agreement to immediately locate the vehicle involved in the accident.
