Siddhartha Highway was blocked briefly following the incident.Madhav Aryal
Three people were injured when boulders crushed a jeep in Siddhababa of Palpa along the Siddhartha Highway on Monday morning.
According to police, a 40-year-old man from Tansen Municipality-14, a 24-year-old man from Nawalpur and a 32-year-old jeep driver from Rupandehi sustained injuries after falling rocks hit the jeep heading to Palpa from Butwal.
The injured were sent to Lumbini Regional Hospital in Butwal for treatment, said Dobhan Police Station.
The highway, which was blocked briefly following the incident, opened for traffic after the debris was cleared.
Landslides occur frequently at the road stretch from Dobhan to Siddhababa during the rainy season, thereby obstructing the road. A 1.12-kilometre tunnel project is being constructed in the stretch which is a landslide-prone and stone slide-prone area.
