Three people were killed while five others were injured in a road accident that occurred in Bandipur-5 of the Tanahun district early on Wednesday.

The incident occurred after a truck skidded off the road and crashed into a house in the Yampa section of the Prithvi Highway, injuring eight people, said Police Inspector Mohan Bahadur Khand.

The out-of-control vehicle injured locals and children, who were waiting for their school bus, Khand added.

A ten-year-old boy, 50-year-old Chet Bahadur Gharti, and 55-year-old San Bahadur Bhujel succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur.

The other injured are currently undergoing treatment at the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, said police.
