Two arrested on charge of assaulting headmaster

Police have arrested two people on the charge of assaulting a headmaster in Malarani Rural Municipality of Arghakhanchi.
Hukum Khadka, district coordinator of the CPN-Revolutionary, and co-coordinator Nageshwar Pandey were taken into police custody on the charge of assaulting Rajendra Panthi, principal of Bal Shiksha Secondary School in Malarani-8.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Pratit Singh Rathore at Arghakhanchi District Police Office, the duo assaulted the principal while he was on his way to school from home.
Rathore said Pandey had constructed a hut on land belonging to the school. It has been revealed through preliminary investigation that Pandey attacked the principal after the latter asked him to demolish the hut. The incident is being investigated, said Rathore.
Deepa Pokharel, acting chief of the rural municipality, and Chet Narayan Kandel, chief administrative officer, in a statement, condemned the act and demanded action against the guilty.
Similarly, six different organisations of teachers condemned the attack in a joint statement.
