One person was killed after a minivan and a motorcycle collided in Garjuwa on the Koshi Highway in Dhankuta district.

 Two others sustained injuries in the incident. 

The accident occurred after the vehicle, travelling to Mulghat from Bhedetar, collided with the two-wheeler on the Dharan-Dhankuta section of the highway on Tuesday evening. 

Twenty-five-year-old Dibash Tamang, who was riding pillion on the motorcycle, had sustained serious injuries in the accident. 

He died in the course of treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, said police. 

Motorcycle rider Abhishek Limbu, 22, and van driver Tul Bahadur Rai, 30, have also been admitted to the Dharan-based hospital for treatment.

 Both are reportedly in critical condition.
